Goddard Space Flight Center and the GES DISC provide a variety of software tools that can be employed for the analysis of Oceans data. Oceanographers and scientists in other disciplines utilize these tools to investigate a wide spectrum of research topics.
SeaWiFS and MODIS-Aqua ocean color data are now available from the Ocean Biology Processing Group. Processing of MODIS sea surface temperature (SST) data is is done by OBPG; and the archive and distribution of the data will be the function of the JPL Physical Oceanography DAAC (PODAAC).
SeaWiFS Data Analysis System (SeaDAS)
SeaDAS is a comprehensive image analysis package for the processing, display, analysis, and quality control of data from several different sensors, notably SeaWiFS, OCTS, CZCS, MODIS, and MOS. For SeaWiFS data, default settings of SeaDAS duplicate the standard processing employed by the SeaWiFS Project. SeaDAS is also free and runs on Unix, PC-Linux, and Mac OS X systems.
